While watching the Canyon girls soccer team win and the boys lose to Palo Duro, I counted no less than half a dozen trains pass by Kimbrough Memorial Stadium.
I know this has nothing to do with sports, but the amount of train traffic that passes by the 'Bro amazed me.
As for the matches, the Canyon girls still have a firm grasp on the No. 2 spot in 5-4A as they approach Tuesday's crucial contest with the district-leading Randall Lady Raiders.
The PD boys regained their half-point district lead over Caprock, though the two teams meet in a blockbuster match that should eventually decide the district title and top playoff seed.
