Today's irony: Bill Romanowski, "nutrition" specialist

Bill Romanowski, former NFL linebacker for my Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders, owns a nutrition company called Nutrition53.

This is ironic because Romanowski was caught using steroids and doesn't deny it. An admitted steroid user is hawking "nutrition" supplements. Right.

I really liked Romanowski when he was a Bronco. He was "Romo" before there was an actual NFL player named Romo. I owned a ballcap of his and tried to model my intensity after his while I was playing high school football.

I didn't enjoy his move to the division-rival raiders, but I kept up with his stats ... until he was caught juicing.

So, yeah, I have a little disdain for him. But I hadn't even thought about him in years until watching Jim Rome Is Burning today and hearing Rome introduce Romo as being the owner and founder of a nutrition company.

Unless I'm trying to fail a drug test, I'm not going to buy anything from him.
